We are a congregation of believers who are in the process of learning to follow the Lord Jesus Christ faithfully. We are united by our realization that all people need a relationship with God and with other people. We understand that God the Father has provided the answer in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ and His Church. Our mission is to demonstrate God's love by connecting people to Christ and one another. We seek to provide a loving environment in which to grow in our faith and live the Christian life.
Jesus said to his followers, "You are the light of the world." We as members of Pearce Baptist Church desire to be lights that shine brightly in a world that is often dark. Our ministries are designed to connect people to the Light of the world, Jesus, so that all people around us might see Him clearly through our lives. We hope you'll come and visit us to learn how you might be connected to Jesus.

Pearce Baptist Church, being a church in good standing with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and the Tar River Baptist Association, affirms its own articles of faith, available here.
In accordance with this document, we affirm the following doctrines of the orthodox Christian faith:
We believe that God is living, and His existence does not depend on any other being. He exists eternally and unchanging as one being and three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Each of these persons of the Trinity carries the full essence of deity, and is united with each other in one essence.
We believe that all Scripture is breathed out by God and is the sole infallible rule of faith for the church. Scripture contains no mixture of error, and is the revelation of God’s character, nature, and moral standards, as well as His redemptive plan for salvation for humanity in Jesus Christ. The Holy Scriptures are composed of 66 books, 39 books in the Old Testament, and 27 books in the New Testament.
We believe that humanity was created by God in His own image for the purpose of worship, and as such, every human being possesses value and dignity in the eyes of God. We recognize this inherent value in all humanity, and as such believe that all humans have a responsibility to preserve life whenever possible.
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are accountable to God, who is absolutely holy. We believe that our condition, along with all evil in the world comes from Adam and Eve's original sin. Because God is holy, He must punish sin.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, that He is fully God and fully man. We believe that He was born free of sin, by the virgin Mary, lived a life in accordance with God’s Law, was crucified by Pontius Pilate, was buried, was raised from the dead three days later, and ascended to the right hand of the Father.
We believe that Jesus Christ, God's perfect Son, was the recipient of God's wrath on the cross that our sin earned. We believe that Jesus’ death paid the penalty for everyone who believes and confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord and repents of their sin. We believe that faith in Jesus Christ and repentance from sin is the only path to salvation.
The New Testament teaches in many places the visible and personal return of Jesus to this earth. The time of his coming is not revealed. It is the duty of all believers to live in readiness for his coming.
A local church is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covering the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ, governed by his laws, and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by his word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the end of the earth. Its scriptural officers are bishops, elders, and deacons. The universal church includes all genuine believers.
We believe in the command of Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:18-20 for the gospel to be preached to all creation for the forgiveness of sins. We believe that every disciple of Jesus Christ has a responsibility to preach the gospel and disciple others, and teach what Christ’s commands are.
